sorry if this has been posted before, tried the search and i got f*#k all,
has any one removed the airbox out and put the ba xr8 pod filter box in instead??? i was hoping to do it but dont know if it will fit.

It should fit, i had no drama's at al on the V8 which is basically the same air intake setup.
If you intend to run a Snorkel, you might need to cut a 80-90mm hole in the siode of the pod cover to run it into. If you get what I mean...

any size difference with the BA box compared to normal EF/EL one??

They look better and have a different air filter. They may be a tad bigger.

The BA ones are a cone setup around the filter. So the filter sits in the cone, like our EF/EL flat panels do, but the BA XR8's are already a pod filter stock.
Unless your thinking of the stocko flat panel one for the 6's?
Cause i couldn't really see a great advantage of that.
