Okay .. problem:

when i rev my car up to 2,000 RPM the engine starts squeaking like

"sqeak sqeak sqeeak sqeak" hard to hear when windows are up

and it gets more frequent the higher rpm

the noise comes from around the front part of the engine
closer to the right hand side.. before the airfilter. and just below the dipstick..

does anyone know what would be wrong

slipping belt due to it being worn or stretched. Can be replaced cheaply.

Well, I'm not sure exactly, but when your engine is cold, the belt in question is probably under a lot more load until the engine warms up. does your aircon come on when u start the car to demist the windows?

also, how long ago did you have a service, sometimes mechanics are known for not tightenting up the belts correctly.

Yeah my XT does that sometimes, just havn't gotten round to replacing the belt yet. No big drama, just replace whatever belt is slipping.
