Hi guys i have a ba falcon xt auto with hurricane heads and hi fi cat and x-force sports exhaust.

I started with the sports exhaust then cut the rear resonator cut off thinking that would sound good...was not happy then so i got headers and hi flo cat in with no rear muffler or resonator then i liked that sound but the droaning got a bit too much so then i get a rear resonator put in..

My question is now that when i get to about 3000revs it sounds really high pitched and it is a loud sound but not a loud deep note just a loud high-pitched sort of note.

What car i do to make it sound deeper not as loud and tin like or have i stuffed up my whole system??

Thanks guys!

wen my car was non turbo, i had the same set up on it, and i p****d off the middle muffler, and put a hot dog resonator in its place, sounded good.

How long has this system been on for? I had a full system (headers to tail pipe) fitted to my XT wagon this week. It sounded tinnie and high pitched at first start up, but as its carboning up its getting deeper and deeper.

About 6 months or so, it sounds more like a rattle/tin nose once i get to 3 grand but if i book it past 3 grand its fine....thats what is making me think maybe something is loose...

Anyway I'm a fan of the deeper note now...my mate has a r33 non turbo and i love the sound, but he has a big cannon tip on it so i don't know if i should maybe get a sports muffler put on or what i should do?

Right now i want it just to sound deeper not so much loud and grunty..just a very deep note is all I'm after.
Any ideas?

It seem obvious you need to put the rear muffler back on..

The rear muffler is in a different town....could i just put a sports muffler on?
Or would i be better to put another resonator in?

Get a proper muffler if you really want to get rid of the tinny/high pitch noise, it will also cut the drone right back.

If you have the space to fit a second muffler then leave the resonator in the tail pipe.
If not, take the resonator out of the tail pipe and put a proper muffler in its place.
