I heard somewhere on here (i think FM MK1) that if the alternator check dash light was blown/faulty that the alternator wouldnt charge the battery? Or am i just insane? What makes me think of that is a mate has a 180sx and the instrument cluster s**t itself, when he sent it off to be repaired (was still driving around without the cluster lol) the battery would go flat in say, an hour or so...what do you reckon? Apply for Falcons too?

yeah if the light is blown it won't charge.
frank - if your battery is fully charged and in good shape it should read upwards of 13.7v at idle.

hey guys, my car wasn't charging the battery the other week so i got another alternator and still have the same problem. any1 know what could be the problem and how to find and solve the problem?

thanks in advance
Kermey!

So whats the verdict Kermey?

Let us know your findings. so we too can pinpoint the fault if some of us do come across it.

Certainly don't want to replace unnecessary parts when it just could be a loose wire, faulty regulator & so forth.

thanks
