Here's a how-to on modding the E-Series throttle body. Most of it will probably work on the B-Series.
fordmods-technical-documents-diy-f38/improving-your-6cyl-e-series-throttlebody-the-diy-way-t84040.html?hilit=modified throttle body

Some have bored out their TB and had a custom throttle plate made, or upgraded to a larger TB. Have a go with Search.

It would be unusual to go to the trouble and expense of taking the head off just for the modest gains available by skimming the head for extra compression. You should at least get a multi-angle valve job and clean up the ports while you're at it. And I'm not sure how much extra compression the BA can handle anyway.

If you are looking for noticeable performance gains for reasonable dollars, look at your breathing (intake mods and cat-back exhaust; headers if you can afford them) and a performance ECU reflash, ideally to run on high octane (98 if it's available where you are) and you're prepared to pay the extra.

Same size throttlebody on a turbo and they have no issues with airflow. Do you really think that opening up a TB on an NA is going to make much difference. Before anyone starts, yes you will get a small gain at peak revs, yes of course everyone drive on the rev limiter all day.
