Hi all
i have a bf mk11 11/06 barra 190 my query is this
when in neutral or park and you want to rev it up, once up to about 1500 rpm it starts to miss and not rev smooth, but it idles smooth as silk and drives perfectly. you can accelerate as hard as you want and it just goes like the clappers no worries at all,
could it be the ECU not letting it rev up for some reason?
any thoughts.

I guess that makes sense if it is to stop D bombs.......unless someones dumb enough to try an R bomb(reverse). Lol

P.s You have bloody good taste in cars 93EB, although I am a little bias.

in neutral the bf mk1 that i have wont rev up but will rev to the limiter in park, the throttle body barely opens in park when the car is reved to the limiter, maybe like 15%? i guess with its fancy fly by wire throttle and ecu it knows when the cars got no load on it theres no reason to open the throttle 100% for limiter

The functionality to limit revs has been in the EEC's for ages. I have a ford escape, and it does the same thing (Cable Throttle body) - Hit the throttle in N or P, and it will zip up to around 2k rpm, and then bounce around at 2k.
