My turbo falcon runs a stock ECU with 6 extra injectors and a microfueler for extra fuel. On the weekend new valve springs and a cam were put in. The cam makes heaps more power on less boost than before but my idle is now shagged.

There is only 10 Vac now compared to 17ish before and the ECU is dumping in a s**t of fuel.

Is there any tricks to improve the idle with the stock ECU or is an aftermarket ECU or stock cam my only choice?

Cheers,
Dan

Id go Aftermarket, Wolf 3d or motec, it cost some $$$ but way better performance wise.

Yeah but I dont want to do that just yet.

My car is legal as it is. I want to keep it that way for a little bit longer.

Is there anything that can be done to help out the stock ecu?

Didn't you say you have 6 extra injectors?
did you size the injectors correctly to fwkw?
did the cam people suggest chipping?

custom tune{Aftermarket ECU} is the way to go dude or you can reinstall the stock cam for now.

* Theres some guys here who have made a ON/OFF switch for the TPS or something similar. Not sure if its relevant to your setup.

ask the guys in the FORCED INDUCTION WORKSHOP

The extra injectors only turn on at a 4-5 psi.

Its going back on the dyno this weekend to be checked out. If all else fails Ill put a stock cam in it and throw on a bigger turbo for now. I dont want to put in an aftermarket ECU yet. The microfueler setup does pretty well for what I want. Stock fuel economy when the car is driven nicely is sweet. Its also the setup that the car came with from the factory so Im not in a ruch to replace it.

Yeah the car can idle for ages without any help. It just blows heaps of fuel out of the exhaust while doing so.

One trick Ive heard of is to put a restrictor in the map sensor vacuum line, which will smooth out the pulses from the cam, which should help with the idle. But Id suggest an aftermarket ECU aswell.

Cheers

Yeah our ECU's don't like low man vac, mines spews fuel out the exhaust, not much you can do, dodge it with a "restricter" or get a new ecu.

RPD can make you an ecu in the factory ECU box that the cops will NEVER find.

Could you post up a pic of your injector setup?

If it doesnt work Ill go back to stock and put the bigger turbo on sooner.
