Well I got my EBII dynod the other day to tune my LPG. (dual fuel)

76rwkw... on petrol!? and 74rwkws on LPG.

Now I dunno about you but that seems redicilously low. I have a cam, ported head, raised compression, elec fans, XH snorkle, and a 2.5 exhaust straight through.

the guy rolled his eyes at me and said 'you boys read too many magazines! Thats a good figure mate! Your cars putting out more that the XR6 that was on here the other day. To put it in perspective a 2L petrol car would make about 50rwkws.. you've got 76 so it's good. What you read in magazines is flywheel figures' rant rant etc and so forth..

even so.. I was expecting about 140kws not 70kws! My mates 2.0L escort humps out 70rwkws. I have the same mods as him but mines 4.0L's.

Surely the guys dyno must be very inaccurate?

Unless your car feels like its running on 2 cylinders i would tell that idiot you want your money back for the dyno cause he's obviously f**k wrong?!!!!!!

My Falcs runs sweet. I think it's pretty fast for what it is.. I've owned 2L turbo's etc before so I'm no stranger to a quick car.

I would say it was making closer to twice that amount.. maybe he ment
176.. not 76.

he wasn't going to have a bar of it. As soon as I questioned it he said
'I f**k knew you were going to say that mate' I wonder if thats cos eveyone who goes there gets low results.

I mean.. how can it be 76 at the rears when it is 150kw factory figure? You don't lose HALF your power through the driveline.. (damn I should have said that to him)

It was just on the dyno to tune my LPG, I didn't pay extra for the dyno run. But asked him to do a power run on petrol for me.. :?

its prolly the gas ring starving for air!

Hows this, the old mans ute 4.1, T5 3.27:1 Impco Gas, pumps a whopping 73rwkw

It struggles to spin in the wet.

It'll be moving soon with a 4.0 and gas injection .... just need a motor :/

Well tell him he is a knob...as you said...they came out 150kw stock at the fly...thats about 100rwkws I believe (depending on transmission type).

My 1989 EA Fairmont MPFI made like 80rwkws give or take...stock

phong =P~

Krytox- It wasn't on gas mate it was on petrol. 76rwkw petrol 74rwkw on LPG

there is no printout.. it was just written on my receipt for the LPG tune.

he said he holds it at 90kmph just before kickdown..? and he said he was easy on it as they don't like to rev them much when it's not required for the tune.

yeah.. I think I might have to get it dynoed somewhere else just to see! Especially as people here seem to quote about 140-150rwkws with similar mods!

if thats the case then he didn't do a 'power run' and i wouldn't be to worried about the number. if you realy want to know what you have go some where els and have a proper 'power run' done.

exactly, it was a dyno run for the tune, not a power run so it wasn't revved out to achieve peak power. However, I dont understand why he didn't just say this from the beginning instead of talking about car magazines and comparing cars.

i doubt you would have 140-150 with your setup.

aumming that... (andmaybe you can give us this info)
engine done 250k kms?
how fresh is your auto?
mild cam i assume?
std valves?
no extractors?

aim for 120-130 for a fair figure...
but yeah 76 rwkw is way out!

hmm, sounds familar :P, when I had my injectors cleaned, the before/after dyno figure was 88rwkw to 119.4rwkw, somthing might be dirty/faulty on your car.
