NOW THATS WHAT i call a blown head gasket
been like this for over a 2 month3 - it finally was undriveable about 3 weeks ago and drove it home lastnite from parents , ( padstow to Ryde was a fun drive - glad it was manuel )

rofl , nar it just let go about 2 or so months ago - i live 5 - 10 minutes from work so it bother me driving it with a ruff idle :P

just out of curiosity,,my 4litre engine sometimes blows black smoke or a bit of blue smoke,,i hope this is just the headgasket...

headgasket normally white. my mates car has done it and its like a steam engine!

black would be unburnt fuel, blueish is the car burning oil.

Seriously blown that gasket.
If the black smoke is followed by the blue smoke ,could be a case of overfuelling causing bore wash.used to happen to 202 holdens when you put a 350 on them with the wrong jetting .If the black smoke is constant go looking for a reason to overfuel like temp sender or map sensor pipe with split.

dont get caught in the usawell (*spelling*) trap of saying "well as long as im replacing this, i might aswell upgrade this will im at it" next thing its a rip down and then comes an expensive build up :twisted:
