Yep sure enough all six bolts on the crank were loose enough to undo by hand. Amazing what a racket a simple thing like that can cause. So what is the likely cause, mechanical abuse or something else? :)

Proberly not torqued right from factory mate, also they proberly did not use any lock tight on the threads.
