After 75/80 km's and almost an hour and a half of driving, all seems well, idle is pretty good, a bit of flutter/hunting around for about 200 or maybe 300 rpm when sitting at trafic lights and sometimes even a stall, btu sometimes it behaves perfectly.

A couple of funnies though - my volt gauge is showing just below 12 volts, when usually it is just above.
When starting it sounds like my battery is dead, starter motor really sounds dead!
It was my mate who reconnected the battery - so i'll chck that alll out.
The battery light on the dash isn't on, so i presume that that means that the alternator is still charging.

There's alsoa bit of a whine from the engine.

My car never stalled after cam change, despite how bad the hunting idle got sometimes and you have the 1604 which is meant to idle better! Weird.
Bump the idle up a tad if it needs it.

Oh well I still reckon take it back out and give it a thrashin.

if the idle is 300rpm it is WAY WAY to low!

i think hes saying its hunting frank 300rpm - not set @ 300rpm!

twr7cx - mine does the same thing - i've got a stage 2 crow cam in an auto, and my idle is pretty s**t eh - has been from day 1. a tickford ECU has helped quite a lot in controling the idle - i know you're chasing one - so when you find one, you should notice a difference!

just reset the base idle using the correct procedure - just make sure you bump it up enough to compensate for the cam  i've spent many hours trying to get the idle to work on my car... :?

but enjoy!

Almost done my 2 hours of easy granny driving, so by the time I get accross the river this evening it'll all be good and ready to get a kick in the guts!

Just learn't a lesson though - it's not worth reusing gaskets. When I got home from work today the bonnet was steaming, popped it up and there's oil every were. The back of the rocker cover the gasket wasn't sealing properly. It looked perfect so I didn't bother fitting the new one, anyways, an hour later and there's a new one in there, all good now!

The biggest change I've noticed is out on the higway, when your cruising along it's a lot more sensitive, like push the accelerator a bit and it builds up a fair bit more speed!
It's defiantely got a bit more poke off theline and that too.
