Try checking the computer for codes
Running rich is probably the map sensor or oxy sensor
Could also be low temperature or coolant temp sensor. If the temp gague shows the car is cold, check the thermostat

Could be a lot of other things too mate.
About the only adjustment you can make is the advance on the dizzy. Everything else is controlled by the computer.

You'll need an LED (i'm sure you have plenty of those lol) and a few bits of wire

mine is doing the same thing too... i'd get better consumption in a n F -350!.. lol... on the high way she's still good.. its just around the subburbs.. will be checkong on those sensors shortly to see whats going on too...

At night accelerating on half throttle upwards she leaves a nice dark cloudof unburnt fuel dimming greatly the beam of the headlights of the car behind me... lol... - just slightly embarrasing...

Remove the stupid resistor mod.

Replace o2 sensor.

Other then that and what has been already said, you can't do a lot really.

lol experts can't even fix a 6 cylinder using more fuel than a V8! quality advice site here.

a mod doubling fuel economy isn't a mod, it's an abortion. you would use at least twice as much fuel to get the same performance, which is about as handy as a foot.

meaning you would be better off taking all the bodgey shyte you put on there and returning to normal.

normally when you mod a car, it goes better, not worse, if it goes worse then you remove the mod.

it's not rocket science.

this site is caught between looking after dumbasses and catering for entusiasts. needs a line drawn somewhere.

yer while your at it why don't you trip the computer out and set the timing just so that the computer can re-control it back to where IT thinks is right.

just remember that computer knows the engine better than you and is only trying to cope with the stupid things you do to the car and if it's responding badly means you've made the car much worse than stoche.

if you've actually done serious mods like cam air exaust and fuel you will know when the computer can't keep up, it still won't use that much fuel just the run quality will be up to shyte everywhere.

ryda

its a simple equation

more power = more fuel + more air
also making it more efficent at doing so with more of a spark if needed

my old ef was very modified and the fuel consumption matched the mods that were done.
Also efs are a very moody machine where is something is wrong its a s**t trying to find the fault especially if you have a manual conversion cause this will mask other faults u have.

if you have a problem with the site stop posting... simple

my problem isn't with the site it's with the amatuers.

following your 'simple equation' your car should be making about 600hp because v8 supercars still don't use that much fuel.

sound about rite ? no it doesn't.

yes more power = more fuel + air,

so for a maths wiz like you what does same power with more fuel + air mean ? shyte in my books.

ford spent more on r&d than you ever will on the whole car and while i'm not saying the falc is a number1 performer, generally speaking if it hasn't been done it won't be.

running rich doesn't equal more power i learnt that when i thought my falcon sounded kewl idling like a top fuel dragster with the crow cam but at the end of the day, i still know it was a d***head thing to think.

if it's not running properly, wether it be a 1 litre swift or a 9 litre truck its not making it's potential power.

potential power relies on efficiency and your never going to make power running like a bag of shyte. yes rich might be better than lean but theres only so much fuel you can burn. which is factory defined by the computer.

all im saying if that the factory ecu is pretty crappy in comparison to the newer ones that u can tune.

there are a lot of tools on here but remember there are alot of people on here that know quite a lot and have been around for a while
