Shut the door.

That's what is does when a door is open, so check they are all closed, otherwise may be a dodgy door switch.

Check the door lock motors too, I've had 2 go in my AU, its a common problem apparently. if its the front door (either of them) it'll unlock and beep like u said...

what model car is it?

i guess it doesnt matter. either way if all your doors are shut you have a faulty actuator.

if it is an E series you may like to replace them all with aftermarket ones. (faster and less noisy)

yeah id check all the doors and the boot to see if one is ajar.

i didnt think the horn beeps at you when its just an actuator, thought the door locks just cycled up and down?

AFAIK boot wont affect it. You can lock the doors with the boot open no worries.

When my front passenger one went, thats exactly what happened. Because the lock doesn't work, the car assumes that its open, hence the beeps... If its a back door, then you won't even notice a difference, that door will just not lock....
