I have a sound coming from somewhere around the front of the engine that rises and falls with revs which sounds like a whirring, whining noise but its not the P/S any ideas?

Perhaps its the idler pulleys? i had the power steering idler die on me, seized and broke a belt, no power steering sucks!

idler - cant remember bearing size 6302zz i think - dont go to fraud go to ur local bearing place - piece of piss to change <$10

yeah i think its the idler pulley. replace it or while ur driving it will come off and u have ball bearings flying and ur car making a clunking noise......found that out when i was going home from work because i couldnt be stuffed replacing it.
