It's the screw below the TB that is connected to the engine via a short rod. i took it out and now the hole wont align with the base of the TB.. What can i do? It isn't that important surely...

You've probably already tried, but can't ya just grab hold of the rod and "persuade" it to line up? Doesn't look that strong, probably wouldn't take much to move it a few mm... Probably isn't that important either. Another unnecessary bracket bolted on by Ford for no apparent reason...
Isn't the rod bolted on the motor anyway? If so just loosen that bolt off and move it a tad to line it up, then tighten both bolts up and you're away.

DELETE THE ROD. POINTLESS. DOES NOTHING.
If you really want to keep it (at risk of being called stupid for life) it is held on down lower by a 10mm bolt. Just loosen that and move the bloody thing. Better still, loosen it and remove it.  The throttle is held to the manifold by four strong bolts. That extra shaft is just in the way whenever you want to change anything like injectors. Delete it. You can also quite safely delete the two arms from the block to the bottom of the BBM. Have been running mine for 150,000km like this, no problem at all. And yes, my car does get air time, does get bottomed out, does have to get towed off large rocks that mean only two wheels are on the ground (the front)........ So if my BBM and throttle are still there after that kind of crap, yours will be too. |

Just undo the 4 bolts that hold it on, do your extra bolt up then do the other 4 back up.
Easy. |

Yeah I tried moving it, won't budge.
Undoing the four bolts wouldn't work as they would be out of alignment. My guess is that rod is used the strengthen the engine and stop it moving around, but I can't exactly move the engine so I'll have to leave it off.

Dude. That metal bar is held on down lower by a bloody little bolt. Just undo the bolt a little and you can move the bar wherever the hell you like. 10mm bolt. Unturn it (leftie loosie, rightie tightie....). Move the damn thing. Better still, UNDO THE BOLT, remove the support arm, throw it away, very far away, and put the bolt back in that holds the manifold to the head.
The head is the bit on the engine. The manifold is the bit that looks like six pipes cast out of alloy on the side. Okay, thanks. Either that or hit the f**k thing with a hammer. God give me the serenity |

Dude, calm down. I'm not an idiot. The bar is not tight, it is designed to move freely. With it loose, it still does not line up with the hole.
I have f**k it with a hammer. Numerous times.
