My EA runs dedicated gas and lately has been cutting out and then it wont start again for like 3-4 hours. I called an LPG mechanic and he said it could be the convertor freezing up. So i ran the car, it cut out ,i checked the convertor to see if it was freezing and instead of having ice on it, its running really hot. (so hot u cant touch it). Could this be my problem ?? And if so, wots involved it fixing it ?

Please help me, i get my license back next week and i cant even drive my car coz its f**k !!!!

Any suggestions would be appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hot is a good thing mate, don't stress about that.

I'd say your problem does lie in the convertor though, it may need a clean out.
There is also a filter in the main lock off which could be blocked aswell.
I don't know what kind of setup you run so it's hard to tell you exactly, but it could also be the saftely switch playing up periodically... Or it may just need a tune.

Yeah, it does need a tune, i just want to know if there are any things i can do myself to try and fix the problem before i take it in ???

Can i clean the convertor myself or is it a f**k-around?

If you aren't really mechanically minded then best you leave it to someone who does.
What brand of convertor is it?

Ah ok so it obviously has an Impco mixer then.

B2 are very basic but you still need a little knowledge before you go pulling it apart.

I'm just giving you possibilities as to what it could be, things like this are hard to pin point without seeing/hearing it yourself.

I have seen safety switches cut in and out like that, but usually when they s**t themselves they stop completely.
It's a small black box which will be mounted in the engine bay, but then you may have the type that's built into the guage.

I'd be inclined to take it down and get them to have a quick look mate, i'd say more than likely convertor prob though.
