hi just bought an EB manual 3.9l and it doesnt want to rev above 3000 rpm, u can when its idling if u gradually accelerate but wont if u put ur foot flat. also it doesnt want to go above 3000rpm when driving in any gear no matter what. just wondering if anyone else has had this problem

Fuel filter is probably blocked. Replace that first, if problem still exists i would then be looking at the fuel pump. But i'd put money on thefilter.

I'd check for a blocked cat converter. Prime candidate.

+1 for the blocked cat, had the same problem. local ford dealer diagnosed it as a fuel pump/regulator issue so decided to do mpfi conversion... turns out there was no problem but the blocked cat hehe
... -1 for ford service

Again - check the cat! My car wouldn't rev past 4500rpm. It was diagnosed as other things until it was dicovered the cat had collapsed. A lot of other little problems were solved once it was replaced too.

well like everyone has been sayin it was the cat haha was totally fuked, also the last person who put a fuel filter on had twisted the fuel line (idiot) and the car was only gettin around 30% of the fuel out of the line so that wasnt helpin either
thanks to everyone for there help car goes like a cut snake now haha
