Cheers guys, im really hoping it fires up first go! i think it will, i just need to double check everything before i do. i have been pretty busy with alot of things and still managing to get things done, think its been about 4 weeks now and probably no more than a total of 72 hrs worth of labour. you really need to throw your worries in the bin for this though.... it will fit and it will work :D you just NEED everything! bits and peices and half conversions seem to be where the real issues occur. it was easy for me to jump into the deep end because i scored the eb for 200 so im not worried if i break something, fortunately i havent so far!
so far its been suprisingly easy! as the build progresses and you go to fit new parts you find that some things dont need much modding and some things just fit! i think what made it easy for me is that i fully dissmantled the ba and its all fresh in my head so i just reverse the process into the eb.

I dont think it really is time consuming its practicly like pulling apart a car and putting it back together again with a few nips and tucks here and there but nothing to drastic.
For now im not spending time making it look pretty, i really just want it all bolted in and running then i can backtrack and begin doing the usual things you do to any car that needs some love.
I encourage anyone who has a spare ea-ed and is thinking of doing this to just go ahead and do it!
this thread mite not be detailed but im happy to answer any questions, i should have all the answers once its running!
havent heard of plyboi's ed ill have to check it out!

Engine in today! just need a tailshaft, a new ps pump! noticed the one i scored the resivour pipe snapped off :x still not 100% sure on what to do about the PS high pressure line yet.. ill come up with something for that soon. other then that just connecting plugs and pipes and so on. so hopefully ill have good news very soon, Heres some pics

I think it may have been a straight swap? I did get the chance to chat to the young fella and he is quite intelligent. He used to work for John McGrath in Canberra. :D

that wouldnt be a bad job to have!

threw a battery in today and found that all things seem to be working well (elecrtonicly)
HOWEVER! it wont turn over at all..... im assuming its going to be something stupid, but i think this part of the build will be where i really struggle. can anybody help me out?
Now i think the ICC unit is operating properly only thing is it says code on the screen so i have to get my mate to dig up the book for the car so i can unlock it... i doubt that it is the icc stoping the engine from starting though...?
i have put $20 fuel in the tank, which does register on the fuel gauge but there are two pertrol symbols still showing on the cluster... one is just the normal low fuel light (i assume) and the other is the same just with a diagonal line through it (symbolising no fuel???)
there is also the symbol of the engine on there aswell and im unsure what this means..
So unfortunately no start so far, dosent even try to turn over at all.

Can anybody give me some ideas as to what might be wrong??
any help will be much appreciated, Thanks
Jesse

u dont need the code man,
we had a ba as a trade in at work and just turn the key to either acc or on, can try both.
and you press the on and off button 3 time
like on off on off on off and on off again for good measure, lols

and no code needed

did you let everything relearn once u hooked it all up.

hook the car up to a battery charger and turn the ignition to on for an hour then try to start.

My suggestion, is to find out what happens in a BA if you swap the steering column and key. It seems to me that the issue may be more related to the BA anti theft stuff, than to the fact is now all mounted in an ED.

you need to get them to relearn, just like in a ed, get a ba shop manual and read up
