I put the EF on the dyno the other day to see what power she had. It was 174.6 rwhp at 121km/h. Since then I have put a pod filter and am waiting on parts to change the inlet tube. Also new plugs and leads are goin in. Then I will re dyno it to see if there is an improvement or not. Hope fully this weekend I will finish the mod.

128.4 kw that is.

Im presuming on a dyno dynamics dyno though.

Pod filter will also bring your kw reading down, a k&n or redline panel filter, queensland spiral core ignition leads or eagle f1 spiral core ignition leads, decent plugs (iridium etc) and the cold air intake (3" mandrel bent pipe from box to t/b) would bring you the extra 5-10rwkw (no s**t..)

Thats pretty good going a stock EF that requires new plugs & leads.
My AU VCT stock mtr with pacemaker ph4499 2.5 redback with stock rear muffler & a blocked air filter could only pull 122.4 & 123 rwk.

ill say it again!

dynos are ONLY tuning tools!

There is no standardisation which is why some give out higher readings then others!

I have seen many i6 fords get these figures with the standard cam and exhaust. These figures are pretty spot on.The last one I saw got 127 rwkws with just exhaust and standard au motor..not mine.

It doesnt seem that long ago that if you xr6 pulled 115rwkw you had a freak. Now it seems everyone can get 120+... Go figure.

well my stock EL futura pumped out 122rwkw with only a cat back exhaust and an AU III XR8 snorkel..

Go figure, maybe dynos are reading higher due to the ozone hole or something.. ;)

dynos are only good for tuning when your on the same dyno if you want to compare your car its about 1/4 mile times

THATS WHAT IT SHOULD BE!!! all these figures of high 120's on standard cars... nowadays i really aint taking these figures as gospel anymore unless i see hard proof and even then im sceptical. these dynos have gotta be generous. too many ppl flog themselves off their kw figures, but with too much variation in different dynos it really dont mean JACK.
A slightly modifed EF with exhaust and extractors should pull around 110, my mates did 108. the highest ive ever seen is 115 from a EL with extractors and exhaust.... i really just dont know what is going on with all these ppl gettin 130odd with there slightly modded cars... *end rant*

But what does it matter... 1/4 will always tell the truth ;)

OK i never said that it was gospel infact I dont really care what the reading was orriginally. I only did it to see if when I do the mods I gain more rwhp! Will use the same dyno every time to but as far as taking the reading as gospel I dont care!
