Grab a Bosch Coil and mount it off the AC Compressor. The new ones come with an extension lead as the now habe the plugs on the same side.

He did say "Good New Coil" in his original post, but certainly does pay to check.

I could certainly do with that extension haha. Coil replacement is a s**t of a job, just so damn fiddly.

Taking a look again i don't think it'd work at the AC compressor with the factory inlet hose, although i have seen a thread on mounting to the side of the strut tower, i'm only considering moving the damn thing because the next time i change the coil, i'll thank myself.

That's where i was thinking of mounting it, and just making up a bracket to fit the existing bolts on the strut tower.

I put mine where it is so it sits flat so there's no added stress on the coil. I also had to solder and heat shrink in an extension to put it where it is but it madeit so much easier to change the lead to the coil.

Well it's still burning orange, must be a spark plug, number 4 burns white but number 3 burns orange.

Also as for that little black wire that usually earths under the coil, what's that for? Is it necessary to have it connected?

Check your leads, swap them on the Dizzy and see if No3 is still orange and 4 is white.

Black wire is probably your noise suppressor.

Could be dodgy terminal in the cap and the spark is jumping more that it should.

I bought new spark plugs because i was very unhappy with the bosch ones i had been using, the new ones are all sparking white on the same lead, however it's still f**k misfiring / rich mixture, i'm going to change the cap and if that doesn't work, i have no other explanation other than the computer s**t itself.
