This may sound like a dumb idea, but my mate needs an engine for an ef as his has blown up. i have an ea motor and want to know if it would be hard to do the swap. his car aint worth sfa, so it aint worth a rebuild. can it be done??

could just pick up a cheap ef motor from a wrecker and drop it straight in dont have to f**k around with ecu , wireing , ef use coil packs and ea's dont so u would have to change the ecu and s**t.

much more easy to drop another ef motor in it .

You just need to put the sequencer and belt setup from the EF engine your pulling out onto the EA engine and it will drop in and use the EF manifodls, coilpacks, ecu etc.

you'd have to either cut n weld the k frame or seriously modify the sump if you wanted to fit an au motor to ef

just get an EF motor would be HEAPS easier, and you wont loose 500rpm?.

and its a simpler swap to do.

yeh its illegal to fit an older motor, but the cars s**t and the owner dosent care, he just needs it to go for another six months till he gets a new car.
