We have a EA-EB 4 litre Multi Point Station Wagon that wont start after being in the sun will turn but wont fire' need to leave the bonnet up 4 a hour or 2 before it will start (no spark).... have replaced coil ,distributer , mapping sensor ,computer ,fuel pump (dopey mechanic),leads, spark plugs and also modules and relays. So basically have cover all the basis. As we are not financially well off to go buy a new car we are at our wits in what is wrong and no mechanic is able to come up with a answer.

do these have a crank angle sensor? that might be stuffed.

Unsure I did mention this but was looked at like a idiot. Also mention the thermo but nothing.

My ea was a bit of a mongrel to start at operating temperature and I found out my timing was out a fair bit. also my distributor wasn't in great condition. how is the timing at the moment?

had the timing done 2 weeks ago. Unsure someone mention maybe because the model was close to the EA cut of point it might be more a EB have you heard of this?

all those parts u replaced were they new or 2nd hand
also the dizzys are different cfi or mpi

hey guys nice to see you joined the club hopefully we can sort this out for you guys we need to put our heads together on this. so come ford mod guys we need to fix this for them they are a really nice couple on the car i thought maybe the water sensor in the overflow bottle might think its too hot to start just a stab at it i looking up thinks to help out

Hi Savage
Thanks for pointing us in the right direction appreciate it. All the parts were new bar the computer. But made sure it worked before we got it. Its a Multi Point 4 litre. As for anything else been at work today so will get back to you with the rest of the answers to your questions |

Are you talking about the cap that goes on top the dizzy 67rce? If so that is brand new also.
