How many amps is your alternator running atm? 70,75,85?
Some guys have upgraded to ef/el alternator 120

its a ebll so i think 70 amp but i am currently running thermo fans and a fair size sound system

it might not hurt to upgrade to a serpentine belt setup too. the 3 rib belt only just drives the standard alty, let alone a bigger one.

he jon im running pretty much same setup as u lol large sound system t fill up al that boot space and the el thermos i have noticed that if a sit in traffic with the sound up battery drops to like 12 on the gauge i was thinking bout a dual battery system and running the sound of that. maybe thats ur answer? if u do get any info bouta larger alt. that runs of our crappy tiny belts let us know

the best that i have come up with sofar is the bosch 85amp alt, but looking in to the ef el


out of the ef el which one had the lower amp alternator?

ef is 110 amp and el is 100 amp..
you can fit a ef alternator with the eb 3 belt set up with a little modification..
search threads posted by "paulmac".. he fit an ef alternator to his ed with a little bit of grinding to the brackets...

yep they look the same except the el is 100 amp...where ef is 110 amp.

ok if i went with the ef alt will i need to up grade the wireing from the alt to the battery?

no...but depending on what alternator your car has now? if you have the mitsubishi one the wires will plug straight in..no wireing mods required..

but if you have the bosch type you will need to cut the 2 wires and solder the mitsubishi type plug onto your loom...
