Hey everyone ,

I'm up for a new radiator for my EL and I was wondering if it's worth buying a cheap $150 radiator off eBay ? I know price is usually a pretty good indicator to quality but I on a tight budget atm and need something that will last me till mid January next year .

This is the one I was looking at buying http://cgi.ebay.com.au/RADIATOR-FORD-FA ... 2eadebcae2 . I don't intend on driving my EL much over the holiday period but it would be nice to have it working right should I need to use it . Any help would be greatly appreciated .

Cheers

It'll get you by.

But if you like the car, buy a decent one, Stick with a Copper core.

iirc, Ford was selling genuine ones for less than $200 a few months back.

Alloy rads are great, but cheap ones don't compare to better ones.

My moto is, it the car comes with an alloy radiator from factory, replace it with an alloy one, and if its copper, replace with a copper one.

Unless your upgrading to a BETTER one.

I've been curious about the Alloy ones on ebay of late... They definitely aren't a PWR judging byt the price but have wondered how good they actually are... :?

i brought a cheap radiator off ebay for my ba falcon about 6 months ago. i think it was $100.
when installin it the bolt holes were slightly off from where the factory one was but nothin to get cranky about.
since installing it i have not lost a single drop of coolant. and keeps my car at proper operating temp.
id say get it. but im sure other people would have negative storys..

Thanks Krytox & Benny D

I'll give Ford a call tomorow and see if they have any in stock . I don't like buying cheap parts but it only needs to last me 4 or 5 weeks and then I will replace it with a new copper core radiator after I start back @ work .

Cheers
