Ok so I'm about to do the EF/EL serpentine belt conversion on my ED, however I've got a new A/C compressor On the ED and I'd really like to retain that, I'm hoping to retain the ED A/C compressor and simply swap the clutch assembly from the EF/EL compressor. So my question is, before I go stuffing around trying to make it work, has anyone done it ? Or know if it's possible.

You can put the EF/EL Pulley on the ED compressor. you have to use the whole clutch assembly tho because the EF/EL pulley wont fit over the ED clutch magnet.

It was many moons ago, but IIRC the ED A/C compressor had a shorter snout on it's front frame. Try it though - you can use an angle grinder disc tool to hold the clutch and undo the front nut. Don't lose the spacer washer.
Worst comes to worst - I think the EF/EL A/C compressor has the same pipeline connection, as the ED's had gone to R134a gas.

If this works then it shall make it even easier for AU engine conversions with log manifold :)
