you can also get an EBII pre smart lock ECU, you will lose smart lock, but no limiter... you don't need smart lock for racing anyway... as for LWD having alloy tailshafts.. I think mine has it... but I could be dreaming

Cheers

Either my EB II doesn't have a limiter, or the speedo is a bit out past the 180 mark, as i've dropped it into 4th ( auto ) @ 170ish kph and the car keeps going hard, right upto the 200 on the dial...... On LPG as well. Was suprised i could go that hard, altho it is a high tech lpg injection setup. :D

I wonder.....

Cheers

if you don't have smart lock on your EBII, there's no limiter... AFAIK. mine doesn't

Cheers

Mine is a smartlock!

It decided to smarklock on me on the fwy a few mths back, when a wire under the hood broke. That was F**k scary! I fixed it, waited a few mins for smarklock to reset, started it back up and went on my way to work...

Cheers

My car is a eb series 2 with smartlock, and it has gone passed 200 on several occations. I always thought the limiter only came in on the ef's.

It's because of LPG. I think so anyway... i.e. it cuts injectors off at the speed limiter. If its a draw-thru LPG or even an LPG injection setup with its own computer, EEC cutting the fuel injectors isnt gonna stop the engine from accelerating...

yeah, there's another way. lol. LPG not only gives you cheaper fuel prices, but also allows you to do stupidly high speeds...(the last ones a bonus).

Cheers

250+ is damn quick no doubt about it. I really thought they'd top out around 215 km/h but there you go.

The E series is a reasonably aerodynamic car, so with enough gearing and power, it could get to that speed. The supercars are winding out to 300 arn't they?

I know i love the bodykit on my ford when your haulin a*** around the 150+, as it keeps it nicely hugging the road, unlike my torana around the 150 mark, it's almost floating..... well it feels like it anyway.

Does the fordmod's group do race days like sandown or eastern creek, as some of the holden and rice clubs do?

Cheers

Well, in my injection setup, the gas ECU is driving the gas injectors, and iirc there is a injector simulator for the petrol ECU so it doesn't go AWOL when running the car on lpg. The limiter should still come on..... if the car has a limiter.... and if the limiter kicks in, the gas ECU should cut as well, as i believe the gas ECU uses the injector pulses of the petrol ECU for timing......

The dude who sugested the EF was the first of the speed limiters, i've heard that a few times. Maybe there is some truth to it? My Eb is 1/93 or there abouts.

I know the rev limiter works, hit the redline, and it won't rev any harder, unless you kick it back a gear and pass the redline, but it comes back down pretty quickly...

Cheers
