Hi no idea wat is rong with it, but would like to know wat the compression should be on the 4l i measured it and it was 140..

140 is a little down, but by no means dead - IIRC specs are about 165psi

done a wet test to see if its top or bottom end?

pull the head off and have a look inside...if the bores are still good then just freshen up the head with a reco...

put some oil in the spark plug holes redo com test if its still s**t reco the head if it gets better your rings are f**k

Last resort yes...there are easier ways to determine cause / severity - ie comp test / wet test etc.
