Hay guys just askign sum q's about air induction

i was wanting to put a bonnet scoop on my EF...not just for the looks but i would also cut the hole in the bonnet as well to let the engine instake col air.

i was thinking of taking the air induction away from the air box ( removing it ) and making a 90 degree angle piperun to the center of the bonnet scoop. I would fit my pod to this piperun when done.

(1) I have dual intake...atm i cant remember what it looks like under the bonnet but i think their is only 1 insert going into the airbox so i should be ok.

(2) Is this adviseable... wont it suck in a lot of hot air from the engine??? or will the amount of cold air coming in rule out the hot air from the engine

(3) is this defectable?

(4) will the induction noise of the pod sucking in air be noticeable?

(5) i see alot of people using stainless steel piping...if this method is adviseable would this be the easiest and best bet to install the piperun and pod?

If this method is not one u guys would recommend what would u recommend?

i have always loved the sound of Pod;s on turbos and BOV so the more induction noises the better :) ( dont have a turbo)

Better of boxing the pod in your airbox, add a larger snorkel and run a secondary intake through the gaurd.

There was a bloke on here or another forum that installed a bonnet scoop and ran a 90 degree elbow of the TB to the front of the rocker cover with a Drift pod filter. Looked alright, it was on a EF fairmont. I will see if I can find a pic?

that's fine if you want a mix of insanely hot air and some cool air.

if you could build a tray to shut up tight creating a seal when the bonnet is closed.. would work great!... ^^^

yeh that setup looks alright... i was thinking instead of coming straight out the induction i would give it a 90 degree turn just a bit further back from the airbox so i can keep the dual intake.

does any1 have any experience with these pods under the bonnet scoops???

i was thinking of getting a black bonnet scoop on my white ef...because its a GLI its not colour coded so the stripe down the side and the side mirrors as well as the number plates are also black.

I think that looks better too. That's what I'd do if I was cutting holes in my bonnet.
