Will these definitely fit our engines?

I didn't realise there were aftermarket options out there! When I replace mine, I think this is the way I'll be going!

all the ford 6cyl coild pack ignitions are basicly the same thing.

the numbering on the coild pack it self for lead order maybe wrong, (numbering to suit V6) but if you follow the number from you I6 coild pack it will work.

they look identical to the ef/au coil packs. I thought they used the 4.0 i6 over there in the trucks, not v6s?

exact fitment to AU V8 engines is the 95-96 4.6L mustang coil pac. i bought and saved heaps:) $75 for the pair as opposed to $250 from BPT

use Part #31725. i know it says 4.6 mustang but our 5.0L use these ones - screamin demon.

high energy coil, but careful your leads are good, as when they burnt mine out so got 10mm ones and all good. can also widen plug gap. i have noticed improvement, especially throttle response, and start up

Looks like you order from the website. But yeah, there are 3 different Screamin' Demons, which one is the best fit for the Falc? And is the wiring plug the same as the EF/AU1 or the later AU2/3 type? The coilpacks all look like the AU2/3 style, which is about 1/2 the size of the EF/AU1 unit. They may need some custom work to fit the earlier size mountings.

I'd guess that the 31738 might be the go... it's used on the Explorer engine and also the current Mustang V6 http://www.performancedistributors.com/05mustangv6.htm

I wonder how much an Explorer coilpack from a wrecker would be to check fitment & plug compatibility?

Old thread I know, but has any one fitted a Screamin Demon coil to a EF yet, from what I can tell the 31736 and the 31738 have the same harness connector for the coil as EF and AU1, the 31737 has the same harness connector as the AU II and III. Grimketel has fitted the 31737 to his AU II with no problems, I am not worried about the plug end differences that can be sorted easily, just want ot make sure I dont have to butcher the original harness.
