the motor runs out of puff at 3800rpm if the butterfly's dont open. i ran my tickford motor in my lane like this for a few months and when i installed the tickford ECU and hooked it up i couldnt believe the difference. its not that hard at all. id say if you got all the info first you could have it done in less then a day.
