hi everyone,would like some help please.my son inlaws ef started to miss on weekend,put new plugs in today[mon],car still misses on number 2,all leads working and have listened to number 2 injector can hear it working.have not done compression test as yet, any suggestions would be gratefully recieved.

What is No5 like?

It the plug on No2 wet or dry, carboned up?

Unplug the injector on No2 and see if it is any worse.

Could also be coil pack going out, run car at night lift hood and look for arching.

If it was the coilpack, more than likely you would have iisues with 2 & 5. They fire 1&6, 2&5, 3&4.

are you sure its only cylinder 2 missing?
how did you check that?

first thought would be coil pack but as SWC said its more than likely you would have issues on both 2 and 5.

the other thing if your confident the plugs and leads are fine is actually swap injector 1 and 2 over and see if the issue is still on cylinder 2. just because the injector is clicking doesnt mean its good. the pintal cap could be f**k meaning its not spraying properly...

Thanks for the replys people,it is only number 2 missing,what i have found is #2 injector seems loose where it goes into head,it seems to move very easily,dont know if this is normal or not.

they have an oring where it goes in which could be flogged out.
Try replacing the o-ring, make sure u put some vaseline on the o-ring when u put it back in
