HI there
can any one out there who can help me with my battery keeps going flat, l just put in a new battery in the car and over the weekend it was flat. l have check the boot light and the clove box aswell and they are off. so is there something in the car l miss???????????????????? HELP |

Could be that the Alternator in the vehicle is not working? When you got your NEW battery, did you have it fitted or did you do it yourself? I would have the Alternator checked at an Auto Electrician.

If you have a multimeter, start the car and check the voltage reading at the battery terminals. If it's at 13.5ish volts the alternator should be working and charging the battery. Assuming you have been running the car...
If you haven't run the car there might be a short somewhere which can drain the battery. Were the parker lights left on?

HELP Probably one of the Diodes inside the Alternator diode pack could be shorted, causing the drain on the Battery. Will still show correct output voltage but not correct current output.

i got a similar problem in my ed falcon new battery about 5 months ago draining maybe 120amp max for stereo el thermos etc and worked fine up untill i went to start it today and nothing i charged the battery up and its all fine put back in the car ans it started and ran for almost a minute and died but with all the lights off the chatge light was lightly on yet it i turned the lights on they went away? could it be my alternator gone ?

Easiet way of checking to see if its the Alternator while its running pull the positive terminal off if it stalls the alternator is buggered.

well i tried that today and yep it died so im up for a alternator
