Clicking sound is the starter relay, are you sure you connected BOTH wires to the starter?

starter only has 1 wire and no other connection for a second wire as its a low reduction stock tickford one...

needs 2 wires, Direct grunty positive from the battery and a pissy trigger from that relay.

oh sorry yeah has both of them on.. i thought you meant a second small wire as the one in my ea had 2 small wires..
basily when i turn the key the fuel pump primes the flashing smartlock light goes off and the relay clicks then nothing..

tried something else tonight by just bridging the starter motor and away it went.. so it must be something to do with smartlock or a relay yea?

If smartlock was disabling the car, it wouldn't start, even if you bridged the starter. Try swapping that relay for another.

Some thoughts may be useful to the latecomers:

The picture you show is the aircon relay and the circuit breaker.

The relay next to the battery closest to the water reservoir tank is the starter relay. You can check the "trigger wire" got power or not when turning the key with a simple multimeter. If the trigger got no signal, then trace backward to "BEM starter cut" and "Transmission starter cut", then the keyhole.

Each has its own little details to quick tell:

"BEM starter cut" fault, you would see some warning light blinking codes on dash with simple power turn on.

"Transmission starter cut" fault, you would hear the "relay clicks" in the dash, but no click sound in the engine bay.

The Keyhole fault, you get nothing or BEM warning when trying to start.
