Is the EF motor much better than the EBII motor?

Has anyone converted an EB to run EF motor, ECU, etc?

Any ideas, suggestions, advice??

Cheers,

Get an EF long engine and use the EB manifolds and ecu, or use the EF/EL engine complete and an EL ecu. Dont bother mucking around with the EF ecu.

what are you talking about? an EB is just a EA series 2 and a EF is just another word for an EA series 4

As far as the ecu goes, EL would be EA series 4, EF is AU series 0.5

Im gonna have to agree with that one, lol.. great call!

And I totally agree with stockstandard, the EL ecus are a 60 pin, which is exactly the same as the EA-ED, which means you just have to add wires for the thermo fans, and the BBM manifold.

The EFs run a 104 pin plug, and run seperate injector triggers, and coil packs, and well, the whole loom in the engine bay and behind the dash would need changing.

Cheers

Well if i have 2 complete cars and no timelimit... whats the best option.... FULL Conversion i mean dash and all or just change manifolds and chuck it in

Only if you are very good with a welder, to do this you pretty much have to weld the complete ef floorpan to accomodate the different seat mounting points and the floor mounted handbrake. It is quite possible though and has been done, looks heaps better too.

The BBM does make a difference up high. I do notice it when I'm booting moms EBII around after driving my EF. However, its only when I rev it right up high, for normal driving don't notice it!

but f**k flew after 50 for some reason, just like any other ed engine till 50 but after went like f**k :)
btw i had a f**k diff (very f**k and bent, dont mess with gutters) and a f**k auto (1st,n,2nd,n,d all day long) can sorta see why i needed the new engine :D
