200rwkw+ seems the norm in speedway racing. Huge cams, big carby's and methanol all help.

seems to be alot of claimed 200rwkw+ speedways engines, and alot of smoke being blown up speedway racers a*** from a few people on this site.

still havn't seen any proof of these engines or proof that they are in some way streetable and would even run on 98octane petrol.

you know who you are

you usually have something worthwhile to read but that post was possibly the dumbest post i have ever read. There are lots of ford 4.0/4.1 motors puttiong well over 350hp in speedways cars.. how can u deny this? have u ever been to speedway meeting?

i'm not denying them at all. i know it's doable, and i've been saying it for long time, most time the 200RWKW threads pop up i have my say.

what i'm arguing is the realavence of a 350hp plus speedway engine, when we are dealing with, by the looks of our forum are all street driven cars and %95 of people here all asking how well what mods will idle and does it suit a stock auto.
the whole 350hp+ speedway thing has no realavence here.

that being said anyone cam claim an engine to have what ever power they want, when the answer to next question "ever had it on a dyno?" is "i dont want to give away my secrets"

there is no proof the engines are making the power they claim.

So as suggested before, ignore the race motors.

The proof is in winning races, or having more straight line speed than other cars.

Just because 95% of people drive street cars doesnt mean that what drag/saloon/speedway cars are doing is not interesting.

Your right there is no proof as such, but the figures that are being quoted are at least ballpark. I have seen pictures of the engines and cam specs and I have no doubt they are capable of making big power.

You say in your post you know that engines are capable of making this power. It seems like you are just arguing for the sake of it.

some of the guys in my speedway club are running ecotec V6's and are producing around 250-300rwhp N/A.. now i know this is possible because u can f**k hear it and they absoultely haul a***..
some of the xflows are also producing around 300rwhp.. thousands of dollars are spent on these engines though and yes they are run on race fuel. And yes i ahve seen one on the dyno :) but in speedwya no one brags about what hp they are putting out its obvious in the lap times who has the most power.

so you are saying the set up of the car has nothing to do with it?

lap time? straight line? laps go AROUND a track. and even on the straight bits, all the power in world isn't going to help if you can't get it down as good as the next guy

Geez tickford 6 u love to have an argument dont u...... Who cares if ppl wont put them in their street cars if they want to talk about speedway motors let them....... Do u watch speedway at all tickford 6??? If you did u would know that even tho a good car setup will help u out a huge amount on the track considering the fact that most of the guys have raced @ the track quite a few times they have setup down pat fairly well. As such its driving ability and sheer power that usually make a major difference as to lap times........
