smartlock my a**!!!!!

Just so you know mate, the Smartlock immobilisation functions will still work just fine. You should still see the Smartlock light flash on the instrument cluster.

You just can't remotely lock and unlock the doors (obviously).

1 more question and the most important 1 is this!
if i go to my local ford dealer and ask for the genuine ford replacement actuators!
(for all 4 doors ) what is the general purchase price! ive heard somewhere around $470 odd bucks!
being that my mechanic who will fix this prob is located right across the road from a ford spare parts dealer i know he will want to get them there.
thanks pete.

Are you talking about an AU? If so, BF locks and adaptor looms. You don't need to do all of them at once.

Alright guys, so I'm still having troubles, and I've got a bit more food for thought.
I unplugged the actuator, and the locking no longer cycles (the rear door doesnt lock, of course).
I went down to the wreckers and bought another actuator (turns out I do have the 96DA's btw), and as soon as I plug it in, the locks start to cycle again...does this mean the actuators another dud? or is there something more sinister going on?

If the actuator you bought matches the rest in your car then make sure the locking mechanisms are properly adjusted.

If that doesn't do the job then it may be a faulty actuator you bought.
