hey about a week ago my mums car (el fairmont) had originly done 166000 and over night has changed into 566000. we took the car to ford and they told us they have never ever herd of this happening and are not sure how to fix it. anyway we r taking it back there and they are going to have a go at it anyway. has any1 else herd of this happening or has happend to them b4?? cheers

It's almost like a faulty display and then suddenly
the missing segments on the first digit have come good. Now that would friggin not be cool.. |

Would be OK if wound back KM's but not add 400000 of them. I thought maybe it had gone in to Diagnostic mode maybe. But you got to do a sequence of presses on the Trip button to get that up. Weird. You didn't run over a Black Cat maybe??

in my ea after i changed the engin, wiring loom and ecu it changed from 220,000 to just over 400,000km .. ive said this once before but some morons around here dont like to believe it.

lol thats hilarious. There are people who can clock back the digital cluster but it costs around $200 which is abit dodgy though. |

Hi all, new to the boards here, just came over from FordForums.com.au
Interesting that it has turned to a 5... have you tried putting it into diagnostic mode? Might clear up the display??
