i have a 97 el falcon gli wagon. it is a standard 4 litre auto. my wife blew the motor up so i have bought an au xr6 motor as a replacement. the mechanic has informed me that the sump is hitting the k frame and understandably he is not willing to cut the frame.. the sump off my old motor wont fit the new one and so i am after any info that will help fix this problem so i can get my beast back on the road.. has anyone had this same problem and how did you fix it please??

mine is virtually the same just abit dirtier, just get some one to cut it back for you.i took off a bit more then this guys and has heaps of clearence.make sure the weld is nice and no holes.mine had a pin prick hole on the bottom had to take it back to get it welded.should also use the au bell housing will bolt straight up to your original auto.you can use your existing bell housing but 2 bolts down the bottom wont line up and if your car is the el you will have to use your dizzy and will all wire up nicely.i got mine timed afew days after it was finishd.best thing i could of done.
