el xr6 cam upgrade

hey guys i really need some help, i have an el xr6 which broke a rocker arm and snapped the cam bolt gear... a few months back..
so i decided to get the head reconditioned and bought a stage 3 crow cam 2222549..
so today i put it all back together and as soon as i bolted down the rocker gear i couldnt turn the motor its like the cam lobes were getting stuck, and as soon as i un bolt the rock gear it turns...
what is the problem can someone help me please?

cam timing is most likely out, you will need to find true TDC on the engine and setup the cam accordingly

If your not careful, you'll bend a valve or break a rocker.

being a el, it may be the hybrid meaning it has au rockers/ different rocker ratio to early el and ef..

I would say get a known set of ef rockers and try again..

AH that old chestnut, that's caught me out once before. Smashed up a rocker train real good

not on an au head mate, they wont line up with the valves properly....
you need to get the correct cam

hey boys i got it working :) :) the vernier gear and cam weren't lined up so i adjusted them correctly and now she spins :) all i gotta do now is find someone to dial in my cam hahaha
