Go the ED for speed - or if you want to the look go the EL!!

It's a tough question cause they are both such good cars!!

So if you had a stock ED XR6 and I had a stock EL XR6, you'd be confident that the ED would be faster???

I agree about the interiors. I reckon the ED XRs look tough as esspecially with the lip spoiler. My mates brother just purchased an ED XR6. It's in great condition but the interior (esspecially the dash facia) looks very old.

As for EDs being faster than ELs when both are stock, i'm not personally sure. I guess if the Ed is lighter than the EL than they will be close to on par due to the increased torque curve rev-range of the EL, but i guess it depends on how much lighter the ED is as well :)

They're both such brilliant cars that it comes down to price.

BOTH look horny, BOTH handle well, BOTH go well.

It all comes down to what you can afford.

If you can afford 13K for an EL with 2K left for mods. Go the EL.

If you can afford 7K for the ED with 3K left for mods. Go the ED.

Either way you're gettin' an awesome car...

Personally I would get an EA for about $200 then spend $12k on it. I reckon that would give you an ED look-a-like that will go harder than either the ED or EL

el for sure. Ive got an eb and although its been taken care off fairly well, those early e series falcons have there problem. The el already has the BBM, and there is more available for them in the way of body kits and if i sat here and thought about it im sure i could come up with alot more.

yes i am 100percent confident that an ed xr6 would pip a el xr6 across hte 1/4

take for instance tickfordXR he has jsut extractors/exhaust and he is running a 15.01 EB XR6
ED same as EB pretty much..

BTW, XR6EB how come you only got 14.8 when you have have 161rwkw????

Nah, I disagree (sorry :) ).

The two cars would be so close that if either one was in front, it would be down to the driver.

Besides, the EF/EL series has a much fatter torque curve, slightly more power, and weighs the same as an EB/ED.

Don't get me wrong, I love EB/ED's, they are awesome! But I just don't see how it's possible that with the same driver, stock for stock, you can come to the conclusion that the ED would win. Especially seeing as the odds are in the EL's favour.
