Here are the curves ...a big improvement all-round.

Really shows how badly my broken chain guides / chain cover were causing havoc timing and tuning-wise.

And this is the previous dyno done by Jim Mock themselves ...NOT on a computer-controlled dyno, in Shoot-Out mode, or in 4th (1:1) gear.

You tell me which one is more believable...

After a brief run-in period ...and an oil change.

Good to see they got it all sorted out. It should be a really nice car to drive now and it'll be good to see the 1/4 mile times now.

Yeah, considering I basically gave them an untunable car ...BPT have done a wicked job.

I guess this shows that it pays to use a performance shop with MECHANICAL and TUNING capabilities.

Without this tuning exercise I would never have realised the full extent of my timing chain problem until something s**t itself BADLY.

It also shows that, in the hands of a good tuner ...the Eliminator Switch Chip is a great product for you E-Series boys running aftermarket mods & cams.

There is a guy here in Perth running a Snort stage 3 Turbo kit on an EF GLi, making 385 rwhp at 7 psi quite happily with the Eliminator Chip ...once again all installed and tuned by BPT.

And for you guys with rattling chains ...well, read this thread

So in the end, it turned out to actualy be a cam timming related issue.
not that it was advanced or retarded, but all over the place due to damaged guides and chain.

after 7 odd pages of people bagging the s**t out BPT i think there are some huge apolagies due from number of people.

it's obvious they did the best they could with what they were given.

personly i wouldn't be p****d off at the chip/tune. YOU PICKED UP 40HP PEAK!!!! AND ON AVERAGE ABOUT 25HP!!
I'd be p****d off about all the money spent on hardware for the engine and having it under perform.

If you old timming chain was very worn and had streched, by replacing the chain and not touching the the adjustable gear, your cam timming will have changed.

Your 'after' AFRs are good. it leaves ignition timming (i doupt it),
cam timming, exhaust system blockages or a mechanical problem to be the cause of lack of power. (or the hardware it self)

the other ting you need to ask yourself, is Why does the power level out/ drop off at 5000rpm.

and to the person calling me a C*** for a post i made later int he thread saying it was my only contribution. this quote is from the 1st page of this thread.
