hey im really thinking about rebuilding my XR6 motor and im wondering if the XR6 piston bore size is the same as a standard EL motor or is it bigger because i was going to get another block from the wreckers and have it all ready to put the new stuff in and also wanted to go oversize piston the 1.0mm size if thats right i think.

nah the bottem end is the same mate, n u can pick up an acl bottem end rebuild kit (1mm) as i did for about $500 or so.
_________________ 97 el falcon, dev 5 package with standard tickford head, rebuilt acl 1mm ova size bottem end, rebuilt auto tranny, 3.7 minispool, au2 rims on ultra lows.

thanks for ur help mate. so is acl the way to go for a rebuild kit or something else. i got some prices for a JE rebuild kit including pistons and au head gasket for 520, 50 for timing chain kit, 187 to bore the block out to 1mm and 30 on top of that to press the new piston on. but i can ask for a acl kit if i wanted to.

yer that sounds about rite, the only reason i got acl is cos i got it cheap through work but it still cost about 500 ne way, all the other prices sound about rite. i dont no much about the je kits but if u do decide to go acl dont use the head gaskit n go the au steel 1.

hey Guys sorry i got the name wrong for the pistons its hypatech pistons i got not je kit dont know where i got that name from but thats waht i thought he said to me but on the box it says hypatech. thanks
