EPA is a national rating, 92 in vic and everywhere else, I almost got done in one of my old XR's 91.7Db, that was only a set of the old style lukey extractors, the mandrel not the press bent ones in mild steel and a 2½ inch redback with a 4 inch hotdog.

the cop was that sure of it he tried to defect me on the spot for it, I ended dragging him to the EPA with me when it was to be tested, just to prove a point.

why am i being told its 90db?

i got EPA'd last night ..

They said that the legal limit is 90DB with a 1.9DB leway

my car came up at 91DB at 3400RPM so its just in ...

they mesured it at 1mtr away, But this was on a rd at 10:30pm ... (big RBT in noosa) was towing at the time, (had to take off trailer lol)

They said that the laws are changing in 6mths time. because under rev up and de-cell the car was over 100DB .. Thats not what they are mesuring though at the moment, but they said that in 6mths time they will be changing that ... so it ALWAYS has to be under 90db .

funny, I always thought the loudest point in my car was about 2600rpm .

there was also a old kingswood there that was 101DB im sure he coped a fine big time!

its funny about these anti-mod laws, 95% of harleys make lots more noise than my car.

Yes, but they get off because they are classed as 'farm machinery'.

there is a simple solution to it all though.

have the system built properly the first time. or if you didn't go have it done properly and then get it tested.

just dont complian when you get fined if your exhaust was never done right.
they dont need to be loud to high flowing.

Yep gotta love Vic and NSW...

Can't say I complain about living in SA at times like this. Last week I was pulled up for an RBT, and even had rubber sprayed up the side of my car (from a night at the drags) and wasn't questions about it, all they were concerned about is my BAC level and my rego lable.

Lol, reminds me of the 05 Bathurst trip, I've pulled over on pit straight after a few hot laps, wheels black and brakes still smoking when a copper pulls up, asks us all what's going on and if we're being good. "yes officer".
