Hey just curious as to how much RPM can the exhaust place rev my car to as i got an epa the day after i lost my license ..which is normal cuz cops are only picking on me since ive driven 3 cars in 2 years with no epa on my exhaust until the day i lose my license..normal cops  Ive got an exhaust system that i wanted specificly made so it doesnt sound loud down low untill i open it up about 3500 + itll start to bark.. Just curious on what the rpm is allowed to sit at?..my ba doesnt allow higher then 3,000Rpm in neutral but i assume they will leave it in park..anyone know? thx.. Revunae raisers

If I remember rightly, it's 3000rpm from 1 metre behind the the exhaust tips. And it's like 90db max.

What exhaust system is on at the moment, if it's too loud? Just so I'll know if I'll ever be hassled lol mines loud, but didn't think it would even come close.

they can rev them upto 4000rpm, i very doubt it will pass. Mine could only pass with a standard exhaust system

I'll end up slapping them across the head if they rev it 4000rpm for 20secpnds .. Mine sits 2 half cruising no need for 4000-_- p.s leased I've got pacey extractors too

I have a feeling the test rpm is 3375 for a lot of falcons here in Vic, check the EPA website, the test spec is on there for all major car's.

I got EPA'd years ago in the Ghia. Mine was quiet until 3000rpm, then the noise level went awol lol. I had to fit a resonator to the system to get it down to just on legal, and by just I mean it's right on 90db. Which doesn't sound very noisy to me lol.

Cheers

Yeah I'm not a fan of quiet cars either lol I think I found it on EPA at 3757 rpm but I'll end up cracking it if they do rev that high for 20secs ..my mate got done by EPA and told me they do it for 60sexonds ..I will be putting my stock exhaust on if it doesn't pass but then I'll just put y exhaust back on right after ..

I can't remember how long the test is done for.

If you have a stock exhaust, fit it up before you go for the test. Then you pass, don't have to pay a retest fee, and you can laugh at the person who dobbed you in.

Cheers

Test should be done at the rpm the engine would theoretically make peak torque. Also the test should only be long enough for a stable reading to be attained. I don't see the problem with it being reved out for up to a minute or so.
