hey guys just a quick question got a new exhaust put on my EL XR6 about 3 weeks ago and ive notice that its really droney now which im not too happy about. i got a baffle muffler in the middle and a muffler resonator at the rear. now would the baffle muffler in the middle cause it to drone? also should i get it change to a tri-flow muffler type for the middle instead of the baffle muffler?

i was at walker performance the other day as im a courier and they said the baffled mufflers will cause alot of back pressure. but issue with that is more air that comes out of the block the more it tries to push it back in hence it gets quieter. that what i got out of his explanation anyway.

as far as i know the rear ressi only dims down that sound, i have no idea what causes the drowning.

well my last sports exhaust system was a straight through muffler in the middle with a muffler resonator for the rear its was loud but to loud if u know what i mean but also it wasnt quite enough for me to like it. so im pretty sure its something to do with the baffle muffler cause the issue.

it wont be run in yet, takes a good 1000km's to build the carbon up...then it wont be as bad.
but if it's auto it will still drone, but not as bad when carboned up

The ideal way to kill ur drone is to put a chambered resonator between the cat and ur main muffler - something like this: http://www.bestmufflers.com/bshop/produ ... 4ea72c2fef

- else if ur using only a resonator - ie. hot dog style thing - in the tailpipe then fit something like that chambered resonator above or one of these: http://www.bestmufflers.com/bshop/produ ... 4ea72c2fef

- it's the chamber that will soak up / kill the drone.

Sorry - should have included details - those are Berklee / Pex brand mufflers. Best Mufflers Online sells them http://www.bestmufflers.com/bshop/

i bought my el falcon with a normal exhaust and it was really f**k like my gears where lacgging heaps and i it was wearing the engine hard so i went to hi-tech mufflers at south dowling street sydney and he hooked me up from extractors back 3inch stainless steel straight pipe with high flow cat with a dump pipe at the end my car has never been so quick and loud best thing ever
