In a car that is factory fitted with a catalytic converter it must be kept to ensure that your vehicle still complies with statutory pollution laws in accordance with each state or territories Environmental Protection Agency guidelines, now I don't know how it works in the land of the long white cloud, so you could be OK, but I doubt it, a friend of mine got defected for a pod filter and loud exhaust on his Skyline, and paid his fine but was sent to the EPA, he had to remove his big front mount and revert to stock, replace factory air box as well as fit standard exhaust, they let him pass but he had to go back and show them he had a genuine factory cat, do you realise how hard it is to find genuine exhaust bits from a 15yo car when everyone discards them for sports exhausts, he had to have exact one not similar - had to have factory stampings on it or no go! talk about Nazis!

So true Rosco, as stupid as it sounds to fit 15 year old non servicable emmisions equipment to a car in order to saisfy the epa on the premse that it s stock, is total f**k s**t. It is a dumb law enfored by the dumbest nazzi's this side of Hogans hero's, but unfortunately we must follow it.

If the EPA were dead serious about protecting the environment (its their job afterall) then they would adopt the California clean air strategy. Where all cat converters must be replaced every 2 years and all emmissiins equipment must be in good working order. And guess what? They actually allow for provisions to modify your car. Not like hogans hero's over here where an EA ex taxi that has has been serviced with dilapidated wrecker parts is emmisions legal, all because its dead stock. Whilst a boosted import isn't because it is unknown how the mods have affected emmisions. For f**k sakes they have a free to use emmisions testing facility in sydney and the last thing they are using it for is for applied RnD with regards to mods. Instead irs sole use is to put modified vehicles off the road as directed by the nsw police service.

yeah GTR skylines stock are 92db from factory lol, when they come into the country they have a compliance cat fitted, its realllllllly restrictive and brings the db down.

Your skills in comprehension of the English language (or any language for that matter) need some work. I'm not the one who took the holier than thou stance on the value of money. That was brought up by your mate hunt3r.

It most definitely does. I'll add it to my list of things to do, right after taking medical advice from a plumber. If _not_ being a complete tool with my car is taking a "holier than thou" stance, then I guess I'm guilty as charged.
