Ok so i just got some pacemaker 4499's in the ute today finally with a high flow cat, all in ok but found one problem, the stock heat shield is too small for them and the last 2 cilinders are exposed and they seem to get hot, i must admit i never bothered checking if this was the same temp as the stock manifold, but my question is is there a aftermarket heat shield to cover the whole set of extactors available? im just worried about the clutch cable been exposed to the heat... am i been to nacy pantsy?

Cheers everybody!

(ps im loving the imporvment in performance!)

Some dude made up some nice looking heat shields for them. Not sure if he is making anymore. Good luck finding them though, I have only seen one for sale since he made them about 12mths ago and that was off a written off car.

The made up one is not that great a heat shield as it's stainless, but it sure looks good.

I have 1 of the above mentioned heatshields to cover the extractors and make the bay look pretty. Underneath I have covered the top half of the headers with Thermo Tec Header Manifold Blanket 14003 (or TT-14003 from Rocket Industries) ( http://www.thermotec.com/product_detail.php?prd_id=7 )..
It used less than half the sheet to cover the pacey comps. It's a bit over $150.00 for a sheet of it. I've still got more than half left - if you want some send me a PM and we can work something out.
