i bought a 2nd hand set of extractors yesterday, and just wondering what i use to clean the old glue off the surface and do i need to do anything else except use the gasket glue? i was thinking metholated spirits to clean both the extractors and the side of the engine where they join?

i got an after market cat with it, and ive got a 2.5" catback on the car, so that issue is covered, probly should of mentioned that

where the best place to buy them, i mean the one that go between extractor and motor, ive never has an issue with the gasket glue before

ive got supercheap paper one, been good for 5000k's so far, still mint, but cant beat the ford steal ones....

If not you need to get some welded on to connect everything together.

Chargd wrote: here is a pic of the cat Here's a pic of my CAT. 2 & 1/2" in, twin 2 & 1/4" out. Thats a 600mm steel rule next to it for scale. I use a Ford s/s gasket for the extractors, never had a failure.
