If it thought it was getting more air it would pump more fuel in and run even richer.

If you had a dizzy you could change static timing, but with EF don't think this is possible.

with the ef its got coil packs so you cant adjust the timing unless you get a j3 chip, there are "chips" on ebay that claim 30 rwhp but all they are is a bunch of resisters fooling the computer into thinking the motor is running cooler and therefore makes it run rich thinking its still warming up, but you gain nothing from this exept probably a bigger fuel bill
basically get a j3 chip with an xr6 tune from ti performance and stick an exhaust/ bigger cam if you want any more power, there is no cheaper way to make power from just fooling the computer and adding little $1 parts here and there

and i learnt the hard way that those electronic shift kits just destroy your auto. mine was fairly healthy. fitted a electronic shift kit. 6 months later the auto failed in an expensive and big way. so T5 i went and glad i did

yeah ive seen conversations about them on here maybe on troymans ed build thread? that when he was going back to auto he tryed a standard box just with the eleco shift kit and it still slipped with it, but when you do it the other way and play with the solinoids in the gearbox it seemed to work, maybe it was dansedgli that was talking about it :?

the only reason my would still slip alittle on gear changes with the normal shift kit is my car is making over 260rwks and is making 160rwkw before 3000rpm and nearly 900rwnm of torque by 3500rpm..
but disabling a couple of the solinoids make it s**t like a champ..lol
there are heaps of people running shift kits on there autos without any problems..
and my box is a stock old thrashed neutral bombed ed box with atleast 200,000+km on it,
it has done quite a few 1st,2nd,3rd gear burnouts at sydney dragway and its still going well..
ill get back to you in a few more months and let you know if its still holding up..

look up wade cams on google and have a look at their list and give them a call, they do regrinds for 200 odd i think, they used to be a fordmods sponser but have now buggered off because people must not of been buying alot off them from here anymore, if your cars auto you cant go too big with the cam unless you fit a stall converter , and it also is beneficial to have a set of extractors aswell,

i think your looking at the wrong engine, those cams are from the old xflow engines

i would suggest the 1636 or 1673...

+1 unless you wanna fit a better torque/stall convertor, if you just wanna race people on the road and be dangerous just hand your licence in lol, doing a manual conversion helps alot aswell, as i have driven a manual falcon and now ive gone from my auto one into a manual and its much more quicker off the start and into the mid range over the auto,

Make up your mind.

These are your words
