Seems like you got a top boss to be giving you that kinda $$$ for a car. :D

I'd take an XR6 N/A with luxury pack and sunroof. Territorys are nice, but I would guess you would prefer something that handles and moves along a bit quicker.

I know everyone bags the N/A's, but they are decently quick for the size of the car, and are smoother, quieter and better handlers than any of our e-series will ever be.

If you can afford the XR6T, then even better.

yeah, I have a great boss - much much better than my last. makes it a pleasure to come to work.

im really not sure which way to go, but as daniel said - im gonna test them all out then make up my mind.
My uncle wants to sell me a mitubishi 380, but i love my fords too much!
I hear the 380 is a pretty good car tho - but front wheel drive isnt my cup of tea..

anyway - heading home now - but ill keep ya's posted to what ends up happening :)

cheers for all the responses too...

Okay - went out to look at some cars over the weekend.
Drove the territory, and really liked it (surprised at how light the steering was for such a car...)
But the price on these are a little high for me.
I started looking at 2nd hand vehicles and couldnt find may good condition XR's with low KM's

I did find an XR6 Turbo with around 50k on the clock selling for around $29k (not bad - but still a little pricey)

then I found this:
Image

WHAT AM I THINKING - A MAGGOT??.....
its only got 30k on the clock and I rekon I could haggle the guys down to $20k.

It has leather seats, mags, sunroof, tints etc....
but its still a Magna... what do ppl think of this car?

When they 1st came out i wasnt a fan, but since i have been looking around. this car seems like a pretty good deal....

am i crazy

i considered a territory ghia also but they are way too pricey!
Also considered an Audi A4 and BMW 325ci

But ended up with the turbo - very good package for the price. if your not paying for fuel thats a bonus coz you can hammer it everywhere then!
As far as resale these are the next VL so you will have no touble selling it - especially if it has options. Took me 3 months to find mine.
People will rather buy a 6 than an 8 with petrol prices - so you can pick up xr8's cheap but it also means it will be hard for you to sell

so you think the XR6T with 50k on the clock for $29k is a good deal?
it has the premium sound system as well...

Im starting to think that the base model falcon (fully supplied by the company - with no expenses to me) is not a bad option..I just have too many options

Dude go that Magna if you want. My dad owning one, I'm now very used to the looks. His has been reliable, it's pretty comfortable, okay interior and quite zippy.

Just what sort of work do you do and does your car need to project a certain image or have certain requirements for work?

Im a sales representative. so the car needs to look respectable, but be reliable for long distance country runs etc...

My boss wont let me drive a loud hoons car.

The more i think of it, im leaning towards a fully paid company BF.
the base model BF has plenty of good features, and I wont be putting myself at any financial risk.

Maybe when the lease runs out on the company car, I will look at buying my own then. At least If I loose my job, im not stuck with a car loan I cant afford to pay for....

I have owned my Territory from new ... got it in Dec 04. It's a TX AWD ... runs the old 4-speed auto.

Very comfortable vehicle ... no problems with mine at all ... has been perfect.

I get 12.9L/100km all-day everyday around Sydney's outer metro region. Plenty of room ... great tow vehicle (I have horses and float them to and from shows regularly).

The get down and really move if you want them too ... and in the wet ... well the traffic light grand prix is an easy win :D

For a 2.1 ton vehicle it is surprisingly nimble ... and with AWD/DSC/EBD and huge brakes ... you have to really doing something bloody stupid to even try and get it out of shape in slippery conditions ... even when trying it's near impossible.

It's quieter than the BA Falcons inside and better visibility ... mirrors are larger as well ... and has a better turning circle than my AU ute too.

All in all ... Ford got it right with the Territory.

I can't fault it at all.

Would have to be the best car I ahve bought ... ever.

I just want to be sure the price is right.

My dad owns an XR6 non turbo with the same Km's and he had his car valued at 25-28k

but this is the turbo model.....
